For sale is my preowned Meccaniche Veneziane Nereide 200m automatic diver on the hard to obtain stainless steel signed MV Jubilee bracelet. This kit is very complete and comes not only with the bracelet, but also with 2, OEM leather straps and an MV mesh bracelet. The Nereide is a 42mm diameter diver featuring a uni-directional rotating bezel and exhibition rear case lid. Powering the Nereide is their caliber MV-285, based on the Swiss STP1-11 automatic movement with a 44 hour power reserve (longer than ETA and Sellita in this range). The watch case is in excellent condition, 96% and the movement is keeping excellent time and operating perfectly. The kit contains the watch, 3 extra straps, removed links, cards and the well crafted wood box and outer box.

Magnifying phone camera

I don't know why I haven't done this already! Out of boredom I simply placed my 10x eye loupe in front of my phones camera lens. Big difference in clarity. Not only can I provide better detailed pictures for posting here, but I can record closer images for my work on small pieces. I can also double the magnification by adding a second loupe.

Boy, do I feel silly for not doing this earlier.

These are taken at the same distance.

JDM Turtles vs non JDM Turtles - Differences?

Is there any reason to buy a JDM Turtle over a non JDM Turtle. Are they the same watch just made in different locations or there something else? I understand that Seiko does not export all models so if you want something that is not available outside of Japan, JDM is your answer

I was just curious as I was looking to buy one of the Save The Ocean watches.

Up for trade is my IWC Portugieser Yacht Club originally purchased in June of 2016 at the IWC boutique in Bal Harbour, FL.

It includes inner and outer boxes, paperwork and original receipt showing purchase price of $12,099.02. I’m also including an OEM blue alligator strap with deployment buckle that was purchased afterward but adds a dressy look for those occasions that call for a more formal attire. The strap and buckle were around $700 additional. All functions operate flawlessly. Please contact me for any additional picture requests, etc.

Just seeing what’s out there. Would prefer to trade for something of similar value with minimal cash going either way but open to trading up for the right deal.

DW-8400 - Weirdest strap set up ever!!

So I picked up this little number from Ebay recently for a £25 offer which arrived a couple of days ago.

All original vintage DW-8400. I think this was the European version of the original Mudman sold in the Japanese market.
As I looked at it while stripping it for cleaning/battery etc, I thought the straps looked very straight from the case:

I thought that maybe someone had put them on crooked because the backplate was on upside down as well. Nope! As you can see, these watches have odd shaped, curved lugs and the strap end has the same curve to meet them.

The other weird thing is the very odd way that you get to the spring bars from the front of the watch, the rear access is blocked due to the design of the strap.

Very easy to get out actually, but an absolute pig to try and get back in!!
Anyway, all opened up, existing battery out then back in with AC Reset and lit up no problem. There was a lot of hazing on the inside of the crystal, pretty normal with a lot of these older G's.

The light is one of the brightest I've seen, on a par with the 6600's.

Here's another look at the lugs and straps with them apart:

So all back together, and the straps do indeed sit like they were when it arrived with me. It looks totally stupid and unless you have wrists that are an oblong shape then you'll have the biggest gap ever between the strap and you!!

The hazing came off easily with a gentle go with my partner's acetone free nail polish remover and a cotton bud, and with the resins given a warm soapy bath and scrub the watch has come out looking almost new!


This is one for me to flip though. I actually really like it's looks, basically it's a 6900 on steroids, but that wrist/strap gapping is really horrible!

I have a CT5111 Link Chronograph with a BA0550 bracelet and with a fold over clasp (top photo below) , which keeps coming loose and it is really annoying me.

I have seen a double push button clasp (bottom photo below) that is on a newer model Link bracelet (BA0594) and I prefer that clasp.

I am reaching out to see if an expert can confirm if the double push button clasp that is standard on the BA0594 Link bracelet will integrate perfectly with the BA0550 Link bracelet.

For sale or trade is my white dial IWC Aquatimer 2000 on IWC’s fantastic bracelet and equipped with the awesome, lumed sapphire bezel. This watch is in excellent condition and running approximately +2 seconds/day on my wrist. Comes with full kit: inner and outer boxes, manual, warranty booklet and card (unsigned), and polishing cloth. Pictures accurately reflect condition; very little wear, minor trace marks primarily on the polished center links. This is a very nice example.

FS: Mark II Cruxible

This is a 2019 production Mark II Cruxible. The watch is in very good condition. There is a tiny nick on the distal portion of the lug nearest the 11 o'clock position. In the interest of full disclosure, any buyer should know that the crown has a slight wobble to it. However, according to MKII this crown movement is completely normal for the Cruxible (and their Hawkinge) due to the nature of the design.

The watch will come on a new green nato (pictured) made by the Nato Strap Company and will include the stock strap (which is used, but clean). Also included is the case, papers, spring bars and the spring bar tool which MKII included with the watch.
